Mental Health Care Throughout New Mexico

Access Care Without Being Limited by Distance

Finding the right mental health provider can be difficult—especially when location, scheduling, transportation, or provider availability limits your choices.

Elevated Horizons Mental Health offers secure telehealth services to eligible New Mexico residents ages 13 and older. Clients can access care from home or another private location without traveling to an office.

Services are provided by Alexis McCray, Ed.S., LPCC, and eligible counseling services may also be available through supervised Counselors-in-Training.

Online Therapy in New Mexico

Individual Therapy for Teens and Adults

Individual therapy is available to New Mexico residents ages 13 and older who want support that is thoughtful, direct, and grounded in their actual lives.

Sessions may address anxiety, trauma, stress, grief, identity, military experiences, family concerns, relationship patterns, major transitions, and the emotional exhaustion that comes from carrying too much for too long.

Therapy is collaborative and individualized. You will not be forced into a generic formula or expected to have everything figured out before beginning.

Evaluations and Professional Letters

Specialized Services with Clear, Thorough Documentation

Elevated Horizons Mental Health provides specialized clinical evaluations and professional documentation for eligible New Mexico residents. Each service begins with a review of the person’s circumstances, clinical needs, and intended use of the requested documentation.

Immigration Psychological Evaluations

Trauma-informed psychological evaluations are available for immigration matters involving asylum, VAWA, U-Visas, T-Visas, and extreme hardship.

Evaluations are completed carefully and may include clinical interviews, assessment measures, record review, and a detailed written report for the client’s legal matter.

Nexus Letters for Veterans

Independent clinical evaluations and nexus letters are available for eligible veterans pursuing disability claims involving post-traumatic stress disorder or military sexual trauma.

Services are designed to provide a thorough clinical opinion based on the veteran’s history, available documentation, assessment results, and relevant diagnostic considerations.

Emotional Support Animal Evaluations

Clinical evaluations are available for eligible New Mexico renters and college students requesting an emotional support animal accommodation. Evaluations may address up to two animals.

An evaluation does not automatically guarantee that a letter will be issued. Documentation is provided only when clinically appropriate and supported by the evaluation.

Gender-Affirming Evaluations and Letters

Respectful evaluations and supporting documentation are available to adults seeking gender-affirming medical care.

The process is designed to be clinically responsible without creating unnecessary barriers or treating a person’s identity as something that must be defended.

Clinical Supervision for New Mexico LMHCs

Work Toward Independent LPCC Licensure with Structured Support

Elevated Horizons Mental Health provides clinical supervision to New Mexico Licensed Mental Health Counselors working toward independent licensure as Licensed Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselors.

Alexis McCray, Ed.S., LPCC, holds a current New Mexico Approved Clinical Supervisor designation. Supervision is available through secure video conferencing and may include individual and group options.

Supervision may address:

  • Clinical case conceptualization

  • Ethical decision-making

  • Documentation and treatment planning

  • Professional identity development

  • Boundaries and risk management

  • Licensure-hour planning and progress

  • Private-practice and career development

  • Counselor confidence and clinical judgment

The goal is not simply to sign forms or count hours. Supervision should help you become a more thoughtful, ethical, and independently capable counselor.

Elevated Access Program

Reduced-Cost Counseling Through Supervised Counselors-in-Training

The Elevated Access Program connects eligible New Mexico residents with master’s- or doctoral-level Counselors-in-Training who practice under clinical supervision.

Telehealth counseling is available to eligible residents ages 13 and older. Sessions are offered on a sliding scale from $0 to $60, depending on financial need and provider availability.

The program was created to reduce barriers to counseling, increase appointment availability, and give developing counselors meaningful experience under professional supervision.

PARENT COACHING

Practical Guidance for Parents and Caregivers

Parent coaching offers focused support for caregivers managing communication difficulties, family transitions, behavioral concerns, boundaries, parenting stress, and changing relationships with children or teenagers.

Coaching centers on the parent or caregiver’s goals and the practical changes they want to make at home. It is not a substitute for a child’s individual therapy or emergency mental health treatment.

Teen-parent coaching is also available to help young parents strengthen caregiving skills, build confidence, and navigate the responsibilities of raising a child.

Counselors-in-Training may participate from different locations when their university requirements allow it. Clients assigned through EHMH must be physically located in a state where the practice is authorized to provide services.
