Alexis McCray, Founder & Clinical Director

Ed. S, LPC, LPCC, LCPC, CCHt, NLP Practitioner

Alexis has an impressive educational background. She holds an Associate of Science in Human Resource Management from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University, a Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University, and an Education Specialist degree in Counseling from Mississippi College.

Prior to transitioning to the mental health industry, Alexis served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years as a Personnelist, including one deployment in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.

Alexis is a Board-Certified Hypnotherapist awarded by the International Board of Coaches and Practitioners. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, the Colorado State Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor by the Nevada Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapists and Clinical Professional Counselors, and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPCC) by the New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Practice Board. Alexis is a Certified NLP Practitioner by the Association of Integrative Psychology.

Alexis was motivated to start her business because she felt her employment opportunities were limited after separating from the military. She wanted to be the difference in mental health that many military/veterans, and others in the Armed Services need. From personal experience and extensive education, Alexis saw how misunderstood and misdiagnosed military/veterans are by providers who are unfamiliar with military/DoD lifestyles or culture. She wanted to create a safe space for the military, first responders, and law enforcement, and their families to be heard and healed by someone that has similar lived experience and understands their challenges.

Medical Billing

Hi, I’m Atarah, an administrative assistant with years of experience supporting mental health professionals and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

I specialize in coordinating appointments, managing electronic health records, and facilitating clear communication between clients and providers. Passionate about mental health advocacy, I take pride in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for all.

Outside of work, I enjoy crafting, hiking and cooking for my family, which helps me stay balanced and energized.

Living in the northwest suburbs of Illinois, she is a parent to four awesome kids. Throughout her days, she works in healthcare by doing medical billing, coding, and credentialing.

Outside of work, she loves eating tasty food and getting lost in a good book.

“Life is a mix of family and work, making each day an adventure in the Midwest”
